Register for the Travel & Tourism Global Footprint Interactive Website

WTTC and the Sustainable Tourism Global Centre, initiated by the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, together with Oxford Economics, have estimated the full extent of Travel & Tourism's global economic, social, and environmental footprint. We have now launched a website which brings together data and key indicators on Travel & Tourism at a global, regional, and national level that will enable users to explore Travel &Tourism's global footprint through a range of different metrics.

What you'll find on this website

  • An interactive experience that will allow you to filter and select environmental and social footprints data relevant to your search parameters.
  • WTTC has expanded its Economic Impact Research to include environmental and social footprints across a range of indicators, including GHG (greenhouse gases), pollutants, energy sources, water use, material input, and the age, wage and gender profile of employment.
  • Environmental and Social Research (ESR) data exists for 185 countries, with initial years including 2010, 2019, 2020, 2021.
  • It includes direct and supply chain impacts (for GHG, scopes 1, 2 and 3), and is tracked across the sub-sectors that make up Travel & Tourism.
  • The ESR data also tracks emissions from international transport (aviation and cruise).
  • The data tells us what the footprint is for each indicator for every dollar that Travel & Tourism generates in the economy.
