This WTTC report, undertaken on behalf of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), addresses the significant environmental impacts of single-use plastics (SUPPs) in the Travel and Tourism sector. It highlights the urgency of the situation since the onset of COVID-19 and relays the prime hotspots for plastic pollution. As well as providing strategic recommendations for stakeholders, the report advocates for reducing SUPPs, promoting reusable alternatives and enhancing collaboration across the sector to adopt circular economy principles.
