This WTTC Learning Insights report, conducted by Harvard School of Public Health, discusses the adoption of science-based targets withinthe Travel & Tourism sector to combat climate change. It emphasises the urgent need for the industry to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

The report shows how setting these targets can help the sector transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy. It also highlights the roles of businesses and governments in achieving these targets and stresses that more comprehensive actions are necessary to meet climate objectives and protect vulnerable communities that are dependent on tourism.
