This report from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) reveals Oceania’s full economic, environmental, and social impact and to what extent the sector has recovered to pre-COVID-19 levels. While the future is bright for the sector, it does face significant challenges, such as those relating to connectivity and workforce skills. This report identifies those challenges and proposes solutions to ensure the region’s sustainable and inclusive growth. It also features projections of Travel & Tourism’s GDP contribution and jobs in the next 10 years, including a forecast based on a scenario where policies have been introduced to address the challenges.

Some of the key elements of the report include:

  • Travel & Tourism’s total contribution to GDP and jobs from each of Oceania’s principal nations
  • Share of inbound source markets to Oceanic islands
  • Analysis of Travel & Tourism’s energy use and contribution to emissions in Oceania
