Report details

details

This report by the World Travel & Tourism Council highlights the significant role of Travel & Tourism in empowering women and providing employment opportunities. It states that the sector employs more women than other industries, particularly in developing countries.

This offers opportunities for workforce participation, leadership and entrepreneurship. Women constitute 46.4% of the sector’s employment in G20 countries, compared to 43.3% in other sectors.

The report also emphasises that increased female employment reduces poverty, supports economic growth, and enhances corporate governance and financial performance. It identifies some challenges, including gender pay gaps and underrepresentation in leadership roles.

Finally, it advocates for policies that improve access to quality jobs, education and training, and promote gender equality and women’s leadership.
