Report details

details

The first addition from WTTC on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting in the Travel & Tourism sector underscores the growing importance of sustainability reporting.

ESG reporting has become a global trend, driven by investor demands, regulatory pressures and stakeholder interest. The report highlights that over 90% of the world's largest companies engage in ESG reporting, which has expanded from large publicly traded companies to smaller enterprises. This practice not only helps organisations identify risks and improve sustainability performance but also builds trust with stakeholders.

The report also emphasises the role of frameworks like the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the UN Global Compact in standardising sustainability reporting across industries, ensuring transparency and supporting long-term business success.
